But alternatively, you can also get Dark Crystals from your Kingdom’s General Store, the Asterite Exchange Shop, and Diamond Packs.
What Are Dark Magic Crystals For?
Dark Magic Crystals are used for cursing your equipment, which gives them increased stat bonuses across the board. To apply the Curse Effect, you must first enhance an equipment piece to +21 using: TIP: You’ll need a lot of Dark Magic Crystals to enhance an equipment piece past +21, so I would recommend not wasting your Dark Magic Crystals on gear you don’t plan on using in the late game.
Where To Farm Dark Magic Crystals
Dark Magic Crystals are quite rare, but you can easily farm at least 100 Dark Crystals per week if you frequently visit the sources cited below.
Source #1: Chaos Field Bosses (Best Source)
The best source of Dark Magic Crystals is the two Chaos Field Bosses that are located on the 4th Floor of their respective maps.
These Chaos Field Bosses spawn 30 minutes after regular Field Bosses — regardless of your time zone.
If you’re not strong enough to bypass the CP requirement, you can still farm the boss solo or even join a party to make farming runs go more smoothly.
I recommend doing this with a party though (preferably with your fellow Kingdom members), since both of these zones are Open PK.
This means you can get killed by other players regardless of your PK alignment, which may hinder your farming session to some degree.
Source #2: General Store
You can buy 75 Dark Magic Crystals for 100 Gilders from your Kingdom’s General Store per week. To unlock them in the General Store, your Kingdom must first bid on and win a Relic War against a rival Kingdom. Only then will Dark Magic Crystals be made available in the General Store — along with a few items in the Auction House. You can also get a few Dark Magic Crystals just by participating in the Relic War, so don’t forget to join it whenever you can!
Source #3: Asterite Exchange Shop
Dark Magic Crystals cost 500 Asterite to buy in the Asterite Exchange Shop, and you can get 30 of them per purchase. F2P Asterite can be farmed mainly from PVP content. However, you need to be able to compete with the top players in the game to earn even a small amount. If you’re low on Dark Magic Crystals and you’re completely F2P, I’d suggest just saving up your Asterite for either PVP gears or Superior Enhancement Stones.
Source #4: Diamond Bundles
Diamond Bundles are just about the only other reliable source of Dark Magic Crystals in the game. For cost-effectiveness, the bundles you might want to consider buying are the Weapon or Armor Enhancement Bundles in the “Enhance Equipment” section of the Bundle Shop. Buying Dark Crystals from here isn’t necessarily advisable if you’re F2P, but it is still a viable source of Dark Magic Crystals — especially if you also need high-tier Enhancement Stones.
